A new generation of acoustic panels for modern workspaces
Our new Acoustic Silent Panels have arrived, bringing a fresh look and a new acoustic solution to our workstation collection.
Available in the three new upholstery colours Ash, Sand and Olive, the 35 mm panels are designed to integrate with AOKE desks while adding sound absorption, visual privacy and separation directly where people work.
With four different widths and configurations for both single and bench desks, the new panels can be incorporated into a wide variety of workstation layouts.
But what exactly makes acoustic panels valuable in a modern office, and what has changed with this new generation?
Acoustic performance you can measure
Behind the new design is independently tested acoustic performance.
The Acoustic Silent Panels were tested by Kiwa Soundlab according to DIN EN ISO 354.
The tested configuration achived an impressive Sound Absorption Class C, a weighted sound absorption coefficient (αw) of 0.60 (H) and a Noise Reduction Coefficient (NRC) of 0.60.
These figures provide a measurable indication of how effectively the tested panel absorbs sound rather than reflecting it back into the surrounding environment.
This becomes particularly relevant in open and shared offices. Conversations, phone calls, meetings and everyday activity all contribute to the overall sound within a workspace. Hard surfaces can reflect this sound, while absorptive materials help reduce those reflections.
Placing acoustic panels directly at the workstation therefore introduces sound-absorbing material close to an area where much of the working day, and many of those conversations, actually take place.
More than just sound absorption
Acoustic performance is only part of the purpose of a desk panel.
In an open office, distractions aren't always something you hear. Movement and activity within your field of view can also make a workstation feel less private.
By creating a physical boundary between neighbouring workstations, the Acoustic Silent Panels provide additional visual separation and a greater sense of individual space.
This can be particularly useful with bench desks, where colleagues work directly opposite or alongside one another. The panel helps define the individual workstation without completely separating employees from the wider office environment.
It is a relatively simple addition, but one that can influence both how a workstation sounds and how it feels to use.
Three new upholstery colours
The Acoustic Silent Panels introduce three new upholstery colours: Ash, Sand and Olive.
From the neutral character of Ash and Sand to the more distinctive appearance of Olive, the new palette provides greater freedom to make the acoustic panel part of the overall interior concept rather than simply a functional addition to the desk.
And that matters more than it might initially seem.
Desk panels occupy a relatively large visual area within a workstation. Across an office with multiple desks, their colour can therefore have a noticeable influence on the overall atmosphere of the interior.
Offering three different finishes makes it easier to coordinate the panels with tabletops, desk frames, seating and the wider colour and material concept of a project.
Designed to work with AOKE desks
Different office projects require different workstation configurations, so the new Acoustic Silent Panels can be used with both single desks and bench desks.
For single desks, dedicated mounting brackets securely attach the acoustic panel directly to the tabletop. With bench configurations, the panel can create a natural separation between opposing workstations.
The panels are available in four widths:
120 cm · 140 cm · 160 cm · 180 cm
These different sizes can be matched with our different tabletop dimensions, making it possible to maintain a consistent acoustic solution across projects containing multiple desk sizes and configurations.
This flexibility is particularly useful when planning larger offices, where individual workstations, bench configurations and different tabletop dimensions may all be used within the same project.v
Available directly from stock
The new Acoustic Silent Panels are available directly from stock in our European warehouse.
Choose between Ash, Sand and Olive, with widths of 120, 140, 160 and 180 cm available for both single and bench desk configurations.
Whether you're planning a few individual workstations or incorporating acoustic panels throughout a larger office project, the different configurations make it easy to find a solution that fits the workspace.
